If you don’t find what you're looking for or have additional questions, feel free to contact us—our team is here to provide the information you need to feel confident about registering.

Where do your au pairs usually come from?

Our au pairs and host families come from Canada, Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Before introducing candidates, we ensure they meet the visa and work requirements for your country.

What if we’re concerned about privacy with an au pair living in our home?

We understand that welcoming an au pair into your home is a big decision, and privacy matters. That’s why we take the time to understand your lifestyle, boundaries, and expectations upfront—ensuring they are clearly communicated to the au pair and outlined in your agreement. We also match you with an au pair who shares similar lifestyle preferences. With clear communication, mutual respect, and well-defined house rules, we help create a living arrangement that works comfortably for everyone.

What qualifications and experience do au pairs usually have?

Our au pairs have a genuine passion for working with children and bring valuable experience from babysitting, previous au pair roles, coaching, teaching, or working at a daycare or children's camp. Through our screening process, we ensure all candidates meet the program and immigration requirements including police checks, medical checks, references, and more.

Is hosting an au pair only for wealthy, or large families?

No, au pairs provide an affordable childcare solution for families of all sizes and budgets. In many cases, hosting an au pair can be more cost-effective than daycare, especially for families with multiple children. In exchange for childcare and supporting your family’s routine, au pairs receive free room and board, along with a weekly personal allowance within the program’s set range.

How does the matching process work?

We carefully consider your family’s unique needs, values, and lifestyle to identify the most compatible au pair for you to consider. If you decide to formally invite them, we guide them through all the necessary steps to ensure they arrive prepared for the experience.

What if we don’t find the right au pair immediately?

If a candidate doesn’t seem like the right fit, we will continue searching until we find an au pair you’re excited about. We may require a few months notice to find the right au pair and allow time to prepare the au pair for travel.

What household tasks are appropriate for an au pair?

Au pairs should not be assigned deep cleaning or tasks directly related to adult care. However, they can assist with light chores such as tidying children's rooms, doing children's laundry, tidying shared areas, and helping with light cooking, meal preparation, and shopping.

What support for families is provided during the au pair’s stay?

Our service includes continuous support throughout the au pair's stay. We offer regular check-ins, assistance with any issues that arise, and resources to help both the family and the au pair have a positive and enriching experience.

What if we experience issues with our au pair?

While we focus on compatibility during the matching process, challenges can sometimes arise. If there are issues, communicate warmly, and openly with your au pair and use weekly check-ins to address concerns. If problems persist, we’re here to mediate and assist with a resolution.

What is the procedure if it’s time for our au pair to leave?

As your au pair’s contract nears completion, we suggest open communication for a smooth departure. Should the relationship need to end prior to the end of the agreement, either party needs to provide at least two weeks notice or longer to allow time to organize additional arrangements. If advance notice isn’t possible, families will be required to provide temporary accommodation (hostel/hotel accommodation) in lieu of notice. This may be altered by any infringements on the agreement.
